Welcome to Hotel Okatex
Hotel Okatex, located at Józefa Piłsudskiego 25 in the charming town of Żagań, Poland, stands as a modest yet inviting three-star accommodation. With a rating of 3.6, it caters well to travelers seeking comfort blended with a touch of historic charm. Its manor-style architecture, nestled on a tree-lined street just minutes from the baroque Ducal Palace and Palacowy Park, creates a tranquil atmosphere that feels both cozy and timeless.
Guests often describe the hotel as a homey retreat with friendly, bilingual staff who strive to create a welcoming environment. The free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and free parking add considerable value, especially for visitors arriving by car. While the rooms maintain a traditional, slightly antique style—sometimes described as dull by some—they offer cleanliness and comfort suited for short and medium stays. Suggestions such as modernizing room decor and adding floral touches hint at the hotel's potential for a fresher, more vibrant ambiance.
The hotel's location is strategic, within walking distance to the Żagań railway station and natural spots along the Bóbr river, making it a convenient base for both business and leisure visitors. Its proximity to local attractions offers guests easy access to explore the rich cultural heritage of the area.
Moreover, Hotel Okatex earns praise for its excellent dining options. The on-site restaurant serves hearty meals, including an unexpectedly authentic Italian pizza that delights even discerning palates. This culinary aspect, combined with the accessible bar and spa facilities, enhances the overall guest experience.
While the hotel does reflect its age—with some blocks lacking elevators and a few operational hiccups at night—its strengths lie in attentive service and practical amenities. The peaceful environment, combined with a mild but genuine charm, makes Hotel Okatex a fitting choice for travelers who appreciate character over flashiness.
In essence, Hotel Okatex offers a balanced blend of history, comfort, and hospitality. It invites guests to experience Żagań with ease, wrapped in a warm atmosphere reminiscent of a quiet, well-kept manor. For those seeking affordable accommodation with authentic local flair, Hotel Okatex stands out as a thoughtful option worth considering.

Wonderful 3 star hotel!!!! But the design of the rooms is a bit dull, moody and upset. I would suggest to change the covers and add some flowers!!!
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. My room was nice for its price, the personnel were really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is increadible, it's like a stay in an old mansion. The nature here is also wonderful. The breakfast was ok. I recommend this hotel and hope to come back here one day.
This is pretty much the only decent hotel in town according to the extensive research I did before my trip to Żagań for business. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I have traveled to eastern Europe quite a bit for business and generally don't have super high expectations for the hotels regardless of their star ratings. The hotel itself is pretty close to the center of town. The room was clean, with fresh linen, and there were fresh towels in the bathroom. There is plenty of parking in a gravel lot out front. The staff were very friendly and English speaking, which is not always the case. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on-site and the prices are very reasonable. The room had both 2G and 5G Wi-Fi that was blazing fast. I didn't get a chance to eat the breakfast because I had to check out early in the morning. I anticipate having to travel back to the area again and will not hesitate to book another stay in this hotel.
We stayed during a very busy weekend. The hotel seemed to cope reasonably well with the large influx of guests for the 75th anniversary of the Great Escape from Stalag Luft 3.
Small comfortable rooms, friendly bilingual staff, older building yet clean, FREE WIFI, FREE Parking, great food! Living in Italy, their Pizza Pie is SPOT ON.
Probably good hotel for tourists with cars as there are few good roads on the territory but you can put your car near the room. There are 3-4 separate blocks with 3-4 floors and some of them without elevator. Not bad for one night as the quality of the rooms not excellent(3 from 5)
The Hotel is nice, if you're looking for a place to stay in Zagan. It's kind of antique though but comfy. They have a restaurant and have good food.
Not expensive at all, but it definitely looks expensive and premium. Only downside is, if you want to come at night and leave your keys at the reception, nobody can give you the keys and we had to wait for a while, until someone came.
